Action Hero Melissa and I got up bright and early today to head to the Rose City Classic Dog Show. We had to get there at 8am to see the basenjis, of course! Here are just a couple of them milling about before their turn in the ring:

And a few in the ring:

The brindles are really cool looking:

Does this greyhound have the blind stares, or is he uber focused?

We spent the bulk of our time watching the agility dogs. They had to run through an obstacle course that included jumps, tubes, teeter totters, etc. As expected, the Border Collies and Australian Shepherds totally ruled, but there were some very amusing moments with poodles and other breeds. It was a great time!

What fun! There was a big show in Cleveland in December – I missed the Basenji breed showing, but saw the winning Basenji in the sight hound breed group. Have you ever seen them lure-coursing? It looks like a blast.
Agility is so much fun – I bet Deedle would love it!

I googled yarn images for a knitting journal I am making and found your blog somehow – I really enjoyed reading it! I never really got into blogs until recently when two good friends started theirs. Anyhow, I wrote because you see I am a Christmas freak with a penchant for vintage and I LOVE those totes you made last month. I would LOVE to purchase one if they are still available. I forgot the style letter but the one I LOVE is the style with the girls running Christmas errands with the red pom pom trim. I have paypal or I could send a check. On a side note I went to Portland for the first time with my husband on a first Anniversary trip and had a very nice time. We were only there a couple of days but I bought yarn and needles at a store called Knit Knot (I think)from which I created my first finished knit creation, a scarf of course! The lady there was the sweetest. We stayed at the Kennedy School which we are eager to visit again. I am going to search you blog some more for other cool places to visit next time we are there. We will have to hit Bob’s Red Mill – it’s a bakers paradise!

The hound owner must be going for a c-o-o-k-i-e. From experience that’s the only time I get undivided attention from my girls!

Agility training is seriously fun to do–Tina (shepherd-kelpie mix) and I did it for awhile, though never competed. But knowing what it involves makes watching a lot more fun.
    I don’t think I’ve ever seen a basenji in an agility trial…
