{"id":342,"date":"2004-09-09T19:27:04","date_gmt":"2004-09-09T19:27:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/wordpress\/?p=342"},"modified":"2004-09-09T19:27:04","modified_gmt":"2004-09-09T19:27:04","slug":"there-are-no-coincidences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/?p=342","title":{"rendered":"there are no coincidences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey all you pop, soda, coke, kako, tonic drinkers! <a href=\"http:\/\/thesmooch.com\">Mary<\/a> brought up jimmies, and I adore jimmies, so I thought I should talk about how wonderful they are.<br \/>\n<center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/archives\/jimmies.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"jimmies.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/archives\/jimmies-thumb.jpg\" width=\"160\" height=\"216\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\nFor those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, jimmies are chocolate sprinkles (some would say they are sprinkles in general, but I tend to think of them only as chocolate sprinkles. The multicolored sprinkles? Those are colored sprinkles in my book). I believe it&#8217;s an east coast term, but I learned it in Portland, OR, thanks to Roberto&#8217;s Ice Cream (lovingly referred to as &#8220;Bob&#8217;s&#8221;), which offered jimmies for an extra 15 cents. My love affair with jimmies continued through college, where I would get them on my frozen yogurt from Yogurt Park in Berkeley (upon learning that I ordered jimmies on my froyo, my friend Bethany said, &#8220;I always wondered who would ever order those&#8221;).<br \/>\nBut anyway, I digress as usual. A fascinating fact about jimmies is that they were invented by Sam Born, the founder of Just Born, the company that makes, wait for it, MARSHMALLOW PEEPS. Can you believe it? Just Born must be the world&#8217;s most perfect company!
