\nThe pattern is from one of the Japanese knitting magazines that La Brainy<\/a> sent eons ago when she was living overseas (hmm, does Canada count as overseas? Ha ha). In the book the sweater is made of some mohairish yarn, but as some of you know, I have a thing about the whole hot body\/cold arms conundrum. I therefore substituted with Berroco Pronto, a 50\/50 cotton\/acrylic yarn that I bought from elann<\/a>.
\nAs I was knitting it up, I was concerned that it was going to be too heavy (it’s fat yarn) and\/or too hot. Then, as I was seaming, I noticed that the sleeves were super short, and heavens to betsy, the thing looked like a muscle T! The horror! Once I put the thing on, however, it didn’t seem so terribly muscle T-ish (does it?), and temperaturewise, it is right on the mark. Peter says this is his most favorite of all the sweaters I have knit, which I think is a little weird, but that’s okay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
