Sadly, I only made one batch. The second batch has been sitting in a cupboard since, well, if the note on the container is correct, September 2003. It must be a lie. At any rate, I haven&#8217;t done anything with the vinegar. I took the jar out of the cupboard to decide what to do with it, and boy was I surprised when I discovered that the mother, a gelatinous glop of bacteria and yeast that feeds the vinegar, had taken over the whole jar! Barely any liquid remains in the container!<br \/>\n<center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/archives\/vinegar mother.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"vinegar mother.JPG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/archives\/vinegar mother-thumb.JPG\" width=\"220\" height=\"165\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/center><br \/>\n<center>Smothering mother<\/center><br \/>\nPeter still wants to siphon off the vinegar and use it, but I am a little frightened.
