I was over at my parents’ house today, and I asked my mother if she still had her button box. My intent, of course, was to steal it. We started looking for it and in the process unearthed some other relics, including a bunch of Japanese embroidery thread:

\nMy mother used to do a lot of tatting (or maybe it’s just tiny crocheting), and she tried to pawn off that thread and such on me, but I told her I can’t tat or crochet. Maybe I can have her show me before we both get too ancient. She also used to bead. We had a good laugh over some giant beaded rings she made, but I took one and wore it all day!
