We were chasing around quite a bit, so I wouldn’t have had much time to knit, anyway. I didn’t take many photos, but as you might suspect, I have more photos of food.
Saturday evening Peter and I went to dinner with my mother and psycho bro. We went to BeWon, a fancy Korean restaurant in my parents’ neighborhood. Peter and my brother got the 8-course meal. Here is one of the courses–little miniature crepes with mushrooms, egg, meat, spinach, all kinds of little morsels!

And here are some of the side dishes they bring you: two kinds of kim chee, marinated squid, mushrooms, daikon radish, burdock root, black beans, etc. I feel sorry for the dishwasher.

The craziest thing about our meal at BeWon? At one point my brother looked out the window and said, “Oh no, it’s a knitter.” I looked out, and there were four women, one of them knitting. One woman was walking away, and she looked so much like Jessica that I almost ran outside and said something, but my mind didn’t work quickly enough. I found out today that it was indeed her! What are the chances?
Okay, one more food shot. For lunch Sunday my mother, Peter, and I went up to Skyline Burgers, one of my favorite spots in Portland. I’ve been going there since I was a kid, and I usually get the same thing: a Smoky Burger and a cherry soda. Here’s my mother with my cherry soda:

I did manage to make it to Rose City Textiles with Mrs. H. What a glorious place! I came away with a few goodies:

The black and beige fabrics are some sort of heavy-duty supplex nylon. I am going to use them for pants with contrasting stitching. The pink is cordura, and I think I’ll use it for bags. The fabric on the right is nylon, and I’m using it to make cancer-surviving Megan a hair-cutting cape (she’s a hairdresser. She asked me to make her some hair-cutting capes then told me that black would be fine. Hello? How many years has she known me?).

Well, we made it back, and I survived the few days sans knitting!
