I happened to be near the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helenbernhardbakery.com\/\">Helen Bernhard Bakery<\/a> today, so I popped in to get some Halloween cookies.<br \/>\n<center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/archives\/halloween cookies hb.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"halloween cookies hb.JPG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.supereggplant.com\/archives\/halloween cookies hb-thumb.JPG\" width=\"260\" height=\"195\" border=\"3\" \/><\/a><\/center>Helen Bernhard&#8217;s has been around forever. We used to get the cloverleaf rolls every year for Thanksgiving, and all our birthday cakes came from there. I swear their frosting roses tasted better than anyone else&#8217;s. Anyway, I was telling all this to the woman who helped me, even though she seemed supremely uninterested and kept giving me these looks like I should adjust my medication. What can I say? I was jacked up on caffeine from Peet&#8217;s Coffee, plus being around baked goods tends to make me overly enthusiastic.<br \/>\nWe had 38 trick-or-treaters tonight, which means I have an extra box of full-size candy bars. That&#8217;s kind of dangerous.
