blue hair

Chunky yarn knits up quickly! I started this hat last night and finished tonight:

It’s made with Gedifra Gigante, and I used size 15 (10 mm) needles! Kind of awkward to handle. Peter wanted to know if I was planning to wear the hat in public. Hmph.
Played with the Hedster this morning, and she gave me this miniature sweater that she knit:

Isn’t it adorable?
I’m off the sugar hiatus, thank goodness! Last night I made rice krispy treats with peanut butter and chocolate chips, and right now I’m baking snickerdoodles (Peter has to take them to work). I did learn from the whole sugar sensitivity thing, though, and I’ve decided to take it easy on the sweet treats when I am on the verge of getting a headache.

    Cute hat! I’ve got some Gigante in pinks and yellows that is almost a sweater right now.
    Those rice krispie treats sound amazing.

    That hat is cuuuuuuuuuute. It reminds me of an elf hat.
    Rice krispies treats. Yum! Need to add that to my list of things I’ll pig out on when I get to the States next month. Woot!

    Yummy blue hat! Becky’s right, elfin is a good word. Now you have the perfect hat to go to the Elf movie in.

    Fluffy blue hats = good
    Sugar = bad
    An old guy at the ranch looked at me in the chia hat this morning and said ” I’m sure that you could’ve found something more attractive to put on your head today” What do old Italian cowboys know?!?!?!

    Very cute hat. Like the color, too – yum.

    mariko, i’m dying to buy the same sony cam that you just got and was wondering whether you think it’s worth it. sorry to hear about your migraines. i’m a fellow migraine sufferer and it can be so debilitating. i think it’s stress and not sugar that causes the migraines, though. please comment about the camera. eager to hear from you about it.

    Hey Kate,
    About the Sony U30 Cyber-shot: I totally love it! It is great if you want something that is ultra ultra compact (it is tiny) and has just basic features. It can take mini movies, but there is no sound. There’s no zoom on the camera, but you can zoom in on photos after you’ve taken them. There’s also flexibility wiht the flash and all that, but I haven’t figured it all out yet. For $200, it’s a great little camera. Even though it is only 2 megapixel, the prints I’ve seen are really nice and clear all the way up to 8×10. Let me know if you want any other specific details!

    thanks mariko for all the info! the reason i had asked was because i saw the camera while i was at target yesterday and totally fell in love with it. the person i immediately thought of was you! i hesitated because i wasn’t really sure but i think i’ll go get one asap. thanks again. i reallly enjoy reading your blog and your knitting!

    I love the chunky blue hat! So cozy on the ears! And the teeny sweater is adorable. I’m loving teeny sweaters this holiday season. AND I think your B-o-C will be fab in those candy colours.
