embrace the lull

I think I might start knitting one of my ArtFibers projects next, but in the meantime, I’m just enjoying the In-betweenness of Knitting. Besides, it’s too hot to start a project right now (if that makes any sense).
So last night I made this:

I know I’ve gone on and on about these Japanese scrubbies, but can you believe this is the first one I’ve made? I kind of messed it up, but it should be functional enough. It seems like Japanese acrylic yarn is different from US acrylic. My Japanese scrubbies seem to have more texture, while the American acrylic yarn is more slippery or something. But you know, I should have better things to obsess about than the scrubby factor of handknit dishrags.

Funny. I was just holding some scrubbies at Trader Joe’s yesterday thinking, “I should really knit some of these.” Now I will.

yeah you could be obsessing about what chocolate you’re going to eat today.

I alread did and they’re great! And you can just pop them in the washer/dryer. Worth the minutes they take to make…

PATTERN PLEASE!!! That’s very cute (and functional!) and I think they’d make great holiday mailer gifts……

Your’e right, there are more important things to obsess about. For example, just the other day I was obsessing about food particles in the dishwasher and whether all the food particles actually get washed away, or whether some miniscule amount remains, and whether there is some health issue to be considered. After loosing 5 nights of sleep, I realized that I was obsessing and forgot about the entire matter.

Would that “better” mean “more serious”? I’d say we’re among the seriously blessed in the world. Want to worry? Turn on the news. I think I like yarn better 🙂

Scrubbies are sooo cute. I wouldn’t even mind doing dishes with one of those touchable things.
    Are you sharing the pattern??

  8. Gabrielle says:

That looks so cute (and relatively easy to make). I’d love to know the pattern as well!

  9. Silvia says:

Well I don’t know about the slipperiness, but your grout in the photo looks extremely clean so they must work!

I think the scrubbies are insanely cute.
