on the horizon

Well, looks like I have found new homes for the books I had available. Anna and Cathy, please e-mail me your mailing addresses so I can send the books! Gaile just got her books up, so go check them out if you’re in need of new reading.
I am just about finished with this:

So it’s a good thing that this arrived from elann:

It’s the Berocco Pronto in spring green. The color in the photo is totally off, but I guess that’s what happens when you neglect to take the plastic wrapping off. I’m planning to make this with the Pronto:

On the left, that short-sleeved cabley number. This is from another Japanese knitting magazine. We’ll see how it all flies!

I have a quick knitting question. I have been looking for really, really, really thick needles [wooden or plastic]. I’m not familiar with the sizes because I’m not a “hard core” knitter. I’ve been keeping my eye open for them in Michaels, but haven’t been able to find any. They are either skinny metal ones, or they aren’t thick enough. Would you happen to know an online store, or another more common store that might carry these needles? They’re really thick… prolly like thumb thick… I’ve only seen them on a Japanese TV show for kids and was saddened that Michaels didn’t carry them 🙁
Thanks in advance and Happy knitting!

oooh, cant wait to see the progress on this sweater! even if that color is off, i am loving it. anything green is driving me crazy right now… i think it is my serious need for spring! is that berocco more leafy? it looks like jadeite in the picture.

Hi it’s Kay, overwhelmed with envy of Japanese knitting magazines. That top will be lovely in green.
Cathy, here is a link to some BIG circulars (what you want is US size 15 or above, I think) for $5.95. P & S Fabrics has the cheapest (good) needles I’ve found and they sell online. http://www.psfabrics.com/store2/index.cgi?cart_id=4555781.5049&pid=121

Ooh, pretty green! That will be a chic sweater; the short sleeve is very cool. Have fun at Stitches West marketplace! I know you’re there Friday, so save some yarn for the rest of us coming Saturday!

I just wanted to let you know that they have grapefruit soda at Trader Joes. Well, my Trader Joes, anyway…
