woolly mammoth clown

Dudes! I finished my candy-colored clown sweater over the weekend.

It is really fuzzy and very, very toasty. I got the yarn (Sorbet) and the pattern at Artfibers back in July! The armholes came out rather snug, and the collar is kind of funky (perhaps as a result of the snug armholes), but I think it’s workable enough (this is the type of rationalization you hear from someone who is way too lazy and future oriented to fix or redo anything). This was my first time doing those knit-in pocket dealies, which was fun.
Okay, hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day. I made red Jell-O to celebrate. Gotta go watch the Westminster Dog Show now. Go hounds!

I LOVE it!! It looks so fresh and spring-y and different from anything I’ve seen someone knit in a long time. Cute, cute, cute! (In a nice way…)

  2. LauraY says:

Wow! That looks really cheery. Very cute! Happy Valentine’s!

  3. Andrea says:

It looks so snuggly. It’s beautiful.

  4. Jessica says:

That is so you. Love it.

  5. Any blog post that starts with “Dudes” already has me amused. I think the yarn they have at Artfibers is so unique – I have a stash of Ziti in my closet and you’re inspiring me to get it out!

I was rooting for the terriers.

Ooh la la! That’s really merry. The pocket detail is certainly worth trying out.

“Future-oriented.” Check. That one’s going into my vocabulary for sure.

That is generally very cute, and specifically very Mariko-appropriate. The pockets and color combo really make that sweater.

The collar’s great! The color’s great! The whole freakin’ sweater is great!

  11. Norma says:

It’s fab on you! Oh, to be as young and tiny as you so I could pull something like that off…..but what a wonderful chase-the-winter-blues-away sweater.

  12. Amy says:

Oooh! That is a very fun sweater. Love the pockets! (decided I would tell you that directly instead of just telling Strug for once 🙂

  13. Lucia says:

    It’s gorgeous.
I’m charting raglan patterns right now and writing generators. Jim’s sideways knit one came out well (Jim in sweater. ) But, armhole depth was one of the things that worried me.
Out of curiosity, how deep are the armholes on your sweater?

  14. Joelene says:

Yah, I was so happy to see the Bloodhound win (I am hoping I was watching the same dog show:) As I have a hound too! Yah, Hounds.
Your sweater is great and it looks so soft and cozy. Perfect for the weather we are having. It looks like the rain in your area is headed right for me (upper S.B. county). Stay warm and dry.

it’s too cute – it’s like the KnitHappens mascot sweater! (same colors as their site) I love it – and only you could pull off pink and green and look that hip, girl!

    Ah. Future-oriented. That’s what I am — now I have a name for why I don’t rip out/back.
That sweater is AWESOME on you. I’m glad I was there at its inception…
    🙂

  27. Elizabeth says:

SO CUTE. Great job. I’m totally with ya on the “future-oriented” thing – just never thought to put it so positively before.
