organic chocolate

There’s a restaurant in one of the little beach towns around here that serves great clam chowder. You can get it in a bread bowl, which I think is one of the greatest inventions in the world. Rachael introduced me to the restaurant, and she loves it so much that she has their number in her speed dial!
Anyway, it’s a little far from me, but just a few weeks ago they opened a second location in San Luis Obispo that also has a bakery and organic fair trade chocolate from a local company, Sweet Earth Organic Chocolates! I popped by to get some goodies, some of which will be going to the pink cookie fairy.

They have cocoa, chocolate chips, candy bars, truffles, etc. I haven’t tasted any yet (though I did get a sample of an orange chocolate truffle. Yum).
And now a question about Rowan Calmer–do I need to wash my swatch? I don’t really want to.

Mmmm… clam chowder in a bread bowl sounds so good. And mention of those pink cookies again–did I tell you that they showed up in my dream the other night? That’s a sign that I’ve been thinking about American food too much lately!

I’ve used Calmer once and it didn’t change gauge on me at all.

Calmer did change gauge on me with a wash, so I would give it a quick spin to be sure!

Hi Mariko – I love your blog and have lurked for a while. Yay for organic fair trade chocolate from West Africa! That’s a huge benefit for the local chocolate growers and it tastes sooooo good to know that you’re helping people make a living wage. Love your craftiness, too!
