for peet’s sake

I totally forgot to blog yesterday! Anyway, I think most coffee drinkers in the Bay Area have a special relationship with Peet’s Coffee. Yes, there are other great little coffee purveyors, including Royal Coffee and Blue Bottle, but when you get right down to it, it’s pretty easy to be loyal to Peet’s. We conveniently get a monthly shipment of Peet’s (yes, that makes us Peetniks). Every once in a while, they will throw in a little goodie, like some post-it notes or a coffee sample. Look what I got this time!

Isn’t that nice? A cap! Can you see what it says on the back? “It takes one to know one.” Good ol’ Peet’s.

you’ll be happy to know that there are two Peets in Portland. However, I must put in a plug for Stumptown coffee which is totally amazing. You go from being a Peetnick to a Stumphead/Stumptownie/Stumpie/fan o’ Stumptown.

A former coworker always raved about Peets. Considering that my hubby and I are confessed caffiends, we may need to order some Peets and give it a try. I love a good coffee. Enjoy!

You know they used to have a few Peets stores in Tokyo and one was only a five minute walk from work. However, it was not to last – they didn’t do well and withdrew from the Japanese market. Starbucks rules here. I did get a fix during our SF trip in June though!!

peet’s is all about silvia and boxes of candy bars (yum!) to me. 🙂

I think the great thing about Peet’s is that they brew their tea correctly – even for to go orders!

Oh, the mere mention of Blue Bottle makes my mouth water for one of their New Orleans Style Ice Coffees. Alan and I lived on them the last time in San Francisco.

I wonder if I can get a shipment of their Jasmine tea every three weeks. Such great aroma and exceedingly wonderful quality control. Each batch smells as fresh and intoxicating as the last. Hard to do with tea that sits on a shelf.
Ahhhhh peets. It doesn’t help that my LYS is just a half block away.

Hee hee! Peetniks! I love it. I’m amazed at the speed with which you cleared, cleaned, and de-cluttered.

  11. Leah says:

The owner of starbucks used to work at a peets and modeled the first starbucks in seattle after the berkeley peets store. Just a little peetnick tidbit :]

  12. Shannon says:

Ooh, I’ll have to try some of Peet’s coffee! We have one store in Denver but they sell the beans in the grocey stores! We’re overrun by Starbucks here too – it’d be nice to have a little diversity!

My mom’s a Peetnik, too – she’s kept getting her shipment every month even though she’s on the East coast now. They sent her a mug that said “Candace’s Decaf” last month. Heh.
