Watch out, cuz look what I got!

Yup, a DYMO label maker! The technology has really advanced since the days of the old DYMO label makers that clicked along on the vinyl tape. I have a slight urge to label everything in the house, but in case you didn’t know, I am NOT insane, so I will refrain.

When I was 3yo, I had one of those old-fashioned date-stamps. It had 3 circular rubber strips (1 strip had the month and then 2 number rolls). They were on a revolving holder, with a wooden handle. You rolled the new date down and used an inkpad to ink it. My mom said I stamped *everything* — my napkin at the dinner table, coloring books, the TV screen, the toilet paper in the bathroom, my pajamas, etc. I think I’d better stay away from the Dymo unit
Ah! You brought out a long forgotten memory; I used to have one of those (admittedly, a rickety version because I’m so “old” and all
) and I remember labelling EVERYTHING. Literally. Have fun labelling.
P.S. I have a favorite banana cake recipe, too. Mine utilizes sour cream. It’s always a real hit when I make it, and I like it because it gives others the incorrect idea that I’m a good cook. You want to swap?
Is that the label-maker that can print permanent sew-in fabric labels? (It’s mentioned in a recent issue of Threads). I think you can order reels of woven labels, and print your own with the Dymo- care instructions for garments, names (as if you’re going off to summer camp)…I wanted one to make labels for the gifts I sew (“Made especially for _________, Christmas 2003″ or “I love you Snookums!”)
Have fun.
Thank you so much for your comment and support on my blog. I am so new to blogging that I am always very surprised when someone finds me. I read yours everyday. Your wit gives me a lift. I especially appreciated the photo of the BACK of your knitting, with dog looking on. Your support means a lot…
It kinda looks like a giant remote control. But I’m taking your word on what it is!
To follow up on the last entry, I’ve met lots of knit bloggers and on-line fiber friends and it is totally not weird at all. Well, not for me anyways. I can’t speak to what THEY think of ME.
We want pics of labels from the DYMO maker! Can you use it to make labels for your knits? Now that would be so cooooool.
Claudia is *weird*. There. It’s out in the open.
