and now the weekend is over

It was a truly glorious weekend here in the Pacific Northwest. It was the first weekend this year with 70+ degree weather, and let me tell you, when you live in a rainy and dark place, people FREAK when the sun comes out. It was great. Of course, for part of it I was stuck indoors as a volunteer at the Wordstock Festival. It was totally worth it and fun, so I’m not complaining. I bought only one book there, one that was on my wish list anyway. The funny thing was the author was speaking when I bought the book, but I didn’t have a chance to stop and listen! Anyway, so far it’s a great read: The Last Season by Eric Blehm.
Then today Melissa and I went to Fabric Depot for some supplies, and when I was grabbing embroidery floss for the needle punch kits that I decided I had to have, even though I need another hobby like I need a hole in the head, oh, wait, I probably HAVE a hole in my head, which is why I do irrational and idiotic things like buy needle punch kits that I will most likely never even open, Melissa yelled from a couple rows down, “THEY HAVE PHILDAR HERE!” Yes, indeed, Fabric Depot has a small, but very tangible and real, selection of Phildar:

It includes Phil Eponge and Aviso. Fair dinkum, maties.

I was one of those FREAKS here this weekend. The French arent so gung ho. Me I say 70 degrees and sun warrants a blinding exposure for my skin- thus tank top and capris for the day. Call me American if you must I WANT THE SUN 🙂

I meant to leave you a message last week… I was changing the date on my daily knitting calendar when on Thursday (the 20th) the scrubby pattern was from you! I’m sure you already know, but I wanted to tell you it was a nice surprise to see mention of a blog I know. Yeah to you!

I think that *is* a 30% off sign above all that lovely Phildar. Hmmmm…how long is that sale going to be going on? I’ll be in SE Portland this weekend – may just have to run by and buy me some yarn!
