Aloha! I’m glad you are finding the sewing tips useful. Some of you asked about sizing in the Japanese sewing books. In the books I have, the patterns seem to come in 3 to 4 sizes. Each pattern comes with a little sizing chart that indicates the finished dimensions. The following is for a dress:

Gosh, thanks for the info. I think, I think, I can handle the patterns a little better.
Speaking of Aloha!, I have a book that I bought from Hakubundo, a japanese book store here in Hawaii, the name is Hula Dresses & Accessories. It is filled with muumuus. I hear hula is a growing trend in Japan. I thought this was interesting so I bought it. You have given me new interest to actually try to make some of these. Thanks for sharing all your expertise!
that was exactly what i thought when i saw the different measurements for the same size. it
Wow, thanks for all this great information! I love all the stuff you’ve made from the Sewing Lesson book. Any thoughts on where I can get a copy of Sewing Lesson? I tried to look for it online but it just took me to a bunch of Japanese websites I can’t read.
Thanks for the tips on dealing with Japanese patterns! Very helpful indeed! So far I’ve been only brave enough to do Japanese crochet patterns, this will help me make the jump to clothing.
So how tall are you on a bad day?
I think it’s so funny you said you’re 5’2″ on a good day! I’ve always said I’m 5’1 and three quarters on a good day. Here’s to standing up straight!
