strawberry fields forever

Fall/winter is fast approaching, but I am determined to continue wearing skirts! I guess I need to get some tights. Anyway, I finally bought some strawberry-splattered brown corduroy I had been coveting, so out came one of the Machiko Kayaki books (I think it was Skirt a la Carte?) and then a skirt!

It is super comfy. I think it might be a four-season skirt. Even Peter had no disparaging comments about this one (though he did make me take off my neopolitan ice cream-colored knee highs for the photo shoot).
And speaking of Machiko Kayaki, Tania set up a flickr group for fans of Machiko Kayaki! Go check out the super cute skirt she just finished.
Okay, superbuzzy shop update should be up and going Wednesday, I think, so please go take a look (especially if you are into kitchen themes. Seriously).

WOW! i really like the skirt. And i check your blog almost every day.
I’m a beginner at sewing and i’m just wondering if the machiko kayaki patterns would be too complicated for a beginner to follow?
    Thanks very much!!
