feeling edgy

Hey folks! I seem to have caught the cold that every other resident of Portland has had. Maybe I should find that comforting? Anyway, Action Hero Melissa gave me this great baking pan called the Baker’s Edge. You know how sometimes food baked in a rectangular baking dish is all crusty on the outer edges and soft and undercooked in the center? This pan is designed to bake things evenly! Check out the chocolate chip cookie dough:

Here’s the finished product, and yeah, I know, it looks almost exactly like the dough!

I followed the recipe that came with the pan, but unfortunately I still ended up overbaking the cookies, and they were too hard and crunchy. I’m looking forward to baking some cinnamon rolls and lasagne in this pan (not at the same time, of course).
Hope everyone is gearing up for a wonderful 2007!

That is an incredibly funky pan. Don’t cook brownies in it; the center pieces are always the best with brownies, and there wouldn’t be any in this one!

that’s a pan i’ve been looking for! i’m always first in line for brownies to snatch up the corners and edges….

That is amazing! What a great idea! I’d buy one myself if it weren’t for the fact that I’m trying not to buy non-stick cookware.

did the cookies come out of the pan easily? I mean, I know it’s a non-stick pan, but the logistics of it are makin’ me go “hmmm”…
my but those bar cookies look yummy! I might have to go into the kitchen and whip some up, lol.

What brilliance! As the person who is always going for that corner brownie, this is the perfect pan for that awesome chewy crust. However, my hubby might disagree, since he likes all the center ones that stay gooey. I still like this ingenuity, though. Happy New Year!

I have seen that pan around and have been wondering about it. Thanks for giving us a review.
Can’t wait to see you use it for lasagna.
