striking gold

For those of you living in the Portland area, hey! It’s Yukon Gold fries season at Burgerville! The Yukon Golds take the sting out of the removal of the sweet potato fries. Peter has gone on a low-sodium diet, which complicates things a bit, but the staff at Burgerville was very accommodating and made sure no extra flakes of salt touched his food.

I love Burgerville! It’s so amazingly good. My dream combo there is fish & chips with sweet potato fries instead of regular, and a pumpkin milkshake… mmm. I can’t wait for fall!

  2. Ooh, yum! I must make a trip to Portland this year!

Stop with the food pics! those fries totally made my mouth water. I think you put Kat on a cupcake mission which rubbed off on me and now I’ve got cupcakes and fries on my mind and I’m not even pms’ing! Yikes!

Oh, Mariko – thank you for reminding me about these gems! I’m trying to stay away from B’ville in general (I need more *green* vegetables, thanks) but I firmly believe in making an exception for these!

I had those the other day… so good! I have to make it a point to go one time during my fave seasonal items time…. but I might need to make an exception and go twice for those, they were so good.
And the chocolate hazelnut milkshake? i wish that agreed with me.

My friend ordered these last time we were at Burgerville and I was a bit disappointed. They wee “just okay” for me.
Fire on the Mountain (which I have sadly not been to in over a year since my husband went meatless) has sweet potato fries on the menu if you need a year-round sweet potato fry fix.

  7. Kathy says:

Yum! Did you have a hazelnut chocolate shake, too?

  8. Kim says:

That’s not a permanent removal of the sweet potato fries is it? Please, please, oh please no!
Susan B – I’d have to say that your dream combo is probably my dream combo too…except if I could also get the Walla Walla Sweet onion rings and a blackberry shake…all at the same time.
    Yum!

Be still my beating heart!! I was weaned on Burgerville and it’s the one thing I wish we had here in AZ (oh, and the delicious tap water!). My sister sent me a jar of the special sauce for Christmas but it’s just not the same. And don’t get me started on the milkshakes…do you have any idea what they charge for blackberries here?! Like it’s an exotic fruit or something!

Kim — you are so right! I love those Walla Walla onion rings too.

Man, oh man. Criss-cross fries. YUKON GOLD criss-cross fries! Why, oh why must I live thousands of miles away from the nearest Burgerville? Someone might console me by saying I can at least have Marshmallow Fluff, but I’m allergic to peanuts, so I can’t even have fluffernutters!
