crab feed

crab feed.JPG

We went to an all-you-can-eat crab feed the other night at the Industrial Cafe in NW Portland. Not only did they have crab, but they also served oysters, a tangy tomato bisque, and salad. The salad was not just an ordinary salad but an iceberg wedge with blue cheese dressing. Whoever invented the wedge is a total genius.
Note: I knit that sweater for Peter about a million years ago (circa 1991).

De-lurking to agree wholeheartedly about that iceburg wedge! Blue cheese filled nooks and crannies. Yum.

that table looks mighty small for two grown men and all that crab! i don’t know why that iceberg wedge salad never caught on in hawaii – i mean, i’m sure they serve it in restaurants here, but it’s not popular…maybe something to do with the scarceness of good iceberg here in hawaii….

That crab feeds sounds so good right now! I went to one a few weeks ago but was still recovering from the flu so I couldn’t really enjoy it.

my definitely non-trendy mom served us wedges of iceberg with sweet french dressing back in the mid 50’s. It’s been around awhile, not sure who is responsible for making it famous, and famous once again….
