the puff daddy revolution has begun

Puff Daddy blue_1024x724.jpg
Another Puff Daddy completed! This one is a non-wool version, just for kicks. I dug into my stash and combined ggh Sombrero (100% rayon) and ONline 15 Orlando (39% cotton, 39% acrylic, 22% nylon). Both are tape yarns, I guess. I really like how it turned out, and it is quite comfy, too.
In other critical Puff Daddy news,
* the magnificent Kay put the pattern up on Ravelry, and you can find it here
* I created a flickr group for the Puff Daddy. Of course, I am currently the only member …
* I heard from the lovely Linda of Yarnzilla, soon to be your one-stop shopping center for Puff Daddy kits! She gave me some background on Misti, the makers of Misti Handpaints Chunky, which was used for the Puff Daddy prototypes. Misti is a family-owned business that needs our support, so buy up if you can! I have to say that the Chunky is super yummy and luscious and soft.
That’s all I have to report for now. Let’s spread some Puff Daddy love!

Oh my! I am super excited to make a puff daddy. You have no idea how badly I need a quick knit! So my speed. Off I go to join the flickr group… not before I mention my love of Yarnzilla and Minnesota 🙂

  4. These are really cute. And look so easy to make. Can’t wait to try. Yay for pack rat fathers! I wonder if MY dad has something cool like that stashed some where…

i just happened to stumble upon this blog because it had the word eggplant in it. You’re a crafter, nice! I love the name of your neck warmer.
    🙂

Are the second generation puffs more narrow than the original?? On MDK the picture of you in the puff shows it to cover a lot of your neck. The new puffs seem thinner. Is it just the picture? Is the gauge the same on both??
I am going start one as soon as I finish my baby’s socks, almost ready to turn the heel on #2 so my puff should be done next week!

    you are too funny.

I started a Puff Daddy after you posted the pattern. The loop section is so clever! I’m terrible about taking pictures of my projects but if I do, I’ll post it on Flickr.

You have totally solved my Christmas presents dilemma for half my list. They are getting Puff Daddys whether or not they like it (and how could they *not* like it?!). I’m actually having really fuzzy memories of perhaps maybe wearing a Puff Daddy when I was little. Is that possible? Thanks for starting the revolution! 🙂

I have officially put in the request with Mom—hopefully, she’ll dash out a couple of these babies for me, her grand-daughter, and our puppy! I just love this thing!! Viva La Revolution!
