knitting on the go

I’d been thinking that it would be nice to have a little purse in which to cart around portable knitting projects. Here’s what I came up with:

Oh, and here it is in use! Can you tell that I’m attempting to knit?

It didn’t come out exactly as I had envisioned, but I’m used to that! And realistically speaking, I will probably just use it as a purse, since I don’t leave the house much and thus don’t have any reason to knit while walking down the street.

You do know that you’re insane, right???
I love miniature candy by the way. Smaller is better when it comes to sweets.

    I love those sneaks!
My mom brought me some fabric from the Ikea bargain bin that’s destined for greatness as a similar bag. I hope mine turns out as nicely as yours!

I love the vintage looking fabric! Plus it’s PINK!

    Cute bag!
I need a new bag for my knitting too, as now I either cram it all into this tiny purse made of obi fabric, or a big canvas thing from the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Neither is sufficient. Have you seen those knitting bags that are really long and narrow, intended for holding your long needles and a few balls of yarn and other essentials? I might make one like that.
    Happy holidays! 🙂

That bag is fantastic! I love the pink fabric. Wow…reading your blog is turning me around on this whole pink issue. I used to avoid pink entirely.
The peanut butter/Snickers cookies are also yummy-looking. Miniature candies are evil, because they make you think you’re not eating as much. But you are. Or at least, I am.

Are you all right? Mom said people have been killed in Paso from the earthquake, something about a building falling? Is that just the early rumors? How horrible!

The bag is beautiful. I just had a conversation about those miniatures the other day! I remember when “fun size” meant that it really was a shrunken-down candybar. Like the Snickers was still a rectangle, as were the fun size Crunch bars, that even had “Crunch” printed on the rectangular bar. You got three bites out of each. Now, it’s a big rip-off. Now those candies are itty-bitty squares in a puffed-up shiny wrapper. Not cool with me. They are selling you more air.

Yes! Please let us know you are ok since the recent quake!

  10. Silvia says:

I see you’ve had a quake! I hope everything is ok!

Nice bag! Reminds me of a turquoise-and-white polka-dotted one a friend made for me, except that I like the nice long straps on yours. Isn’t it great to be able to think, “gee I wish I had …”, and then make it so?
