please don’t step on my daisies

Well, I attempted to make a seed bead necklace yesterday, and I think I may have been a bit too ambitious. I tried to make little daisies (I think it’s called a daisy chain in beading parlance), and I clearly used the wrong kind of beading wire (Soft Flex) because the daisies will not lie flat and look all mangled. It’s not that noticeable if I’m wearing it, so I might just be lazy and keep it as is:

Peter saw it and asked, “Is that a muffin?” Um, hello, but if I had the choice between a muffin and a cupcake, WHICH do you suppose I would choose?
Thanks to everyone for telling me about the Peeps-making machine. When I first heard about it, I had to exercise extreme will power to keep from dashing out to the store right then. I do need to go to Target soon, though, so if I accidentally find myself in the toy section, I might just have to get one!

A Peeps maker? From Wham-O, no less? Run, run, Mariko. Get thee to Target!

I won’t claim that I’m an expert on beading but I used to do a little bit. I never bought beading wire to do necklaces and bracelets with, I just used fishing line. So maybe that would work for your necklace.

hmmm…a peeps maker, huh? sounds like a wholesome activity for me and the kids.
I like you’re cupcake necklace; I think like many imperfections, they are noticeable only when you draw attention to them.

Well cupcake, it looks good from where I’m sitting. Maybe they have different kinds of beading notions in the Target toy aisle? (insert evil laugh)

I just had a lavender bunny Peep. Mmmm. I keep looking at them, thinking I’d make a pendant out of one of them like I saw a while ago, but I don’t think I could stand it knowing I had a real Peep around my neck.

Sorry, I forgot my real reason for posting…I LOVE the necklace.

Maisy doesn’t have a problem with lazy daisies. Cute necklace! Naw, that’s not a cupcake. That’s a bran muffin. Can’t fool us. 🙂

Oh dear, you’re going to be like me with not only a yarn stash and fabric stash but a bead stash too! At least beads don’t take up much room! 🙂
Yes, Nymo thread is the best to use for daisy chains and any other kind of bead pattern. But your necklace still looks very cool. And don’t worry I made my first daisy chain five years ago from an inflexible thread! Even on the wrong type of thread, they don’t look too bad when wearing and your’s hangs a lot better than my first attempt at daisys.
I love the little cake charm, it’s wonderful! I’ve never seen a charm like it. It’s great!

And, if you’ve got a Wal-Mart out there…I saw the Peep-maker at one of the CT ones last Friday. I SO want to get this for one of my friends…though he likes his Peeps reeeeellly stale *shrugging & laughing*
