yes, I’m supposed to be taking care of my father

Before I came up to Portland, I was telling myself that I would stick around the house more and be a Responsible Adult Daughter. I am, after all, practically middle aged. Though I HAVE been pretty successful with my vow to be in the house after dark and for dinner, I haven’t been quite as good at being here during the day. Today was no different. Mrs. H came just before 9am, and we headed out on yet another Fiber Fest. In addition to running some errands (including one to a sewing machine center where I discovered that I really NEED the Janome 6500 to add to my fleet of sewing machines), we went to Fabric Depot, Daisy Kingdom, and the Yarn Garden.
Here’s part of what I got at Fabric Depot (and no, I don’t know why I’ve been taking so many blurry pictures lately):

The bowling fabric is for my father-in-law, since he’s going to be competing in a national bowling tournament in June! I also got some cheap cotton/acrylic TLC yarn. I’m hoping it’s like Cotton Ease, but we’ll see what happens.
Tonight we went to dinner at my favorite burger joint in the world–Skyline Burgers. It’s been in existence ever since I can remember, and though it’s changed hands a few times, the place still has personality for miles!

Ooh, love that fabric! I especially like the fun retro pink fabric. You are so crafty. I have a sewing machine that I’m trying to learn how to use, but it’s slow going….
Have fun with your dad. 🙂

WOW! Can’t wait to see the DAD shirt! Those fabrics are very enticing.
I also have seen that TLC yarn online – do tell how it knits up. It seemed to come in cooler colors than Cotton Ease. Does it appear to be the same *hand*?
I haven’t seen it in any stores here but haven’t been to the Local Craft Huts in awhile.
Really have been enjoying your Oregonian travels – I need a vacation!

Daisy Kingdom! I didn’t even know they had a retail store. Hm. looks like they mostly sell fabric, huh? I have a bunch of DK rubberstamps, but it think they’re quite ancient.

I’m moving up to the Portland area within the next year. So I’m noting all these great places you are going.
But I really think we need an updated pic of your father now to make sure you are taking care of him on your trip.
    He is such a cutie!
