food and flowers

Before I show numerous pictures of food, here’s a bit of fiber:

Action Hero Melissa crocheted this cute pin! I really want to learn how to crochet now (and I confess–I love those little toilet roll covers).
So today I went to lunch at Wildwood, one of Portland’s premier foodie spots, with Melissa and my friend Wendy. I had never been there before but have read a lot about it and heard good things. It was very, very yummy.
Melissa had a chopped salad of ham (prosciutto) and cheese (a white cheddar):

Wendy had the halibut:

And I had the pork loin with polenta. The pork came with a blackberry sauce! Very Oregon, non?

For dessert we shared a plate of little cookies and this sorbet dessert that had grapefruit sorbet, Meyer lemon sorbet, and ginger sorbet. Very refreshing!

I decided that the reason some of my photos have been blurry lately is because I’ve been drinking caffeinated coffee in the mornings (I usually have decaf). That’s my story for now, anyway.

How much coffee are you drinking in the a.m. that your pix are blurry? And why do they look fine to me…hmmm…maybe that’s too much shiraz.
Yummy lunch! Looks like your PDX trip is lots of fun and hijinks.

now I am depressed. I microwaved a Lean Cuisine for lunch…sigh,,,
anyway, crochet the flowers is not hard, just takes some getting used to after all that knitting. If you go to DMC’s website, they have patterns for cute crochets buttons to!!
