snappy coin purse

I ordered some coin purse frames from Sarah1980, and they flew here from Australia! They are pretty quick to put together, but I think there is a definite technique to getting the frame onto the fabric; I don’t quite have the knack just yet, but I think the coin purse came out okay, and it’s so much fun opening and closing the clasp!

You have the best eye for fabric combos! This is such a swanky coin purse, I’d actually use one like this myself. Maybe that way I could actually find change for the Coke machine w/o breaking a nail digging around in my purse!

Can you say “Ebay”? I would love to buy something like this. I made a knitting tote out of the outer fabric, which is my favorite. This coin purse reminds me of the older Latina ladies that lived on my block in Spanish Harlem. They used to tuck them in their bras. Too cute!

Another place to look for purse and coin purse handels is always Lacis in Berkeley. They have a lot more there than on there online shop.
They even have the little snap frames that you see on the little asian coin purses.

very cute. i am impressed with your sewing ability. i get so easily frustrated with it. now that my oldest daughter wants to sew, I guess i am going to have to brush up on my admittedly rusty skills.

So cute! Are those the sew-in type or the squeeze tight type? I saw some special tool to use for the squeeze tight variety (yes, that is a technical term!), and I considered checking that out… haven’t done it yet!

Way too groovy! I’ve got one of this too but couldn’t figure how to tuck the fabric in. I’ve made some coin purses with similar snaps but those have in-built holes for sewing.
