ice cream party

Well, today was the day of the ice cream block party that I won from Dreyer’s. We had planned on having it at 3pm, but it was pretty darn hot, and Peter thought people would pass out on the way to the party, so we postponed it until 7pm. It was perfect at 7pm! We had a nice turnout, but unfortunately I didn’t get many photos, because I insisted on serving everyone their ice cream (okay, I was being a little bit of a control freak).
Here’s part of the group:

I thought I was going to have carpal tunnel from scooping up all the ice cream, but that Dreyer’s Slow Churned stuff is pretty soft, so it was easy to scoop! We had lots of different flavors (12, to be exact), and the most popular? Orange ‘n Cream! The Slow Churned ice cream is low fat, but it is really quite tasty (and no, they didn’t pay me to say that). Okay, I have to go put some stuff on my mosquito bites now (and maybe have some more ice cream).

Sounds like so much fun! Did you have heaps of leftover ice cream? I think if I was serving everyone there would be a risk that I’d give them smaller portions to try and increase the possibility of leftovers. Glad you enjoyed it!

Ice cream, yum. The party sounded like lots of fun. I may have to try this Slow Churned stuff. And to the commenter who asked is Dreyer’s is the same as Edy’s, the answer is yes.

Every year on the last day of school, I always throw a ice cream sundae party for my class. I know scooping ice cream for 25 kids is hard work, I can’t imagine a whole block.
Orange ‘n Cream sounds yummy. Is it like a Creamsicle?

I just finished polishing off the Edy’s Slow-Churned myself. Low-fat means I get to eat the whole thing, right? It’s possibly the tastiest reduced calorie ice cream I’ve ever eaten. And I’m not paid for that, either.
Glad you (and your neighbors) had fun at your part-ay!
