Sorry I have been absent, but I was really sick and couldn’t get out of bed for two days. It was highly unpleasant, and I do not recommend it. Anyway, Happy Halloween! This is our first Halloween in our new house, and I didn’t know how many trick-or-treaters to expect. I knew it wouldn’t be over 200 like at our old place, so I had to exercise RESTRAINT and go for a moderate amount of candy:

It is 7:40pm now, and we have had just under 50 trick-or-treaters. I still have three bags of unopened candy. They would be more dangerous, I suppose, if they were open.
On another topic, I want to get some Interface FLOR pieces, but I can’t make a decision! Look at all these fun little samples!

Okay, so my favorite one is the super spazzy colorful one, but that also happens to be the most expensive one. Hmph.

I definitely see the appeal of that super multi-colored one. The blue and green or pink and green checkerboard-ish ones are cute, too. Glad you’re feeling better!

    Happy Halloween!

I also vote for the spectacular spiral one. Maybe you can mix with that plumy color to the left to make it less expensive?

  4. Jenn says:

While I really like the spazzy, colorful, spiral-y one also, I really like the white and silver cross one too. It’s so pretty, though maybe a little formal for you? That’s a difficult decision you have there, lady.
    Glad you’re feeling better!

  5. Ani says:

Hope you are better. I always manage to pick the most expensive by accident.

  6. Kristin says:

the colorful one looks great in the full-room picture they have on the website. how about as an inset with a plain border?

  7. Julia says:

I like the spiral one, also. I think the suggestion to mix them with the less expensive ones makes sense. I also vote for the white and silver/grey ones, those are sharp.

The white/silver is my fave in the abstract, but it would show too much dirt, and dirt would get into the seams between the tiles. For that latter reason, I think your choices are somewhat limited. Your fave would work. The beige thing at far right with accents of pink could be lovely, especially if you alternate the “grain” of the tiles.

It’s carpet, yes? Maybe you could get a smallish piece & have the edges bound. Put it somewhere you’ll see it often & make you happy, eh? I like that one, too.

I think the best part of the system is the mixy-matchy thing. With patterned tiles, I think less is more. Use the expensive ones as accents, to really show them off. Would you really want a whole carpet of the spazzy spiral? Thought!: you could create your own sprial with different plain colors….
These patterns are so pretty–all those different textures, too. it’s a great concept–left me thinking, now where could I use these?
(You’re not going to cover up that pretty hardwood flooring, are you?)

thanks for the heads up! I love that flor!
Will be looking into it so I started with the free catalog and this way I can browse the selections a bit more to pick samples for us…that looks liek such a fun way to covfer the floors and D and I were looking for something for the living room, plus we can take it with us when we move!

  12. Adrienne says:

Oooh. Colourful spazzy one looks good; but I agree with the others: mix and match! Too many spirals might be too dizzying.
I also like the green and pink one. Tough decision to make!

I love flor! But you should know, you cannot clean them like a carpet. All you can do is basically rinse and dry. We have an area rug of Walking on Air (or is it Clouds?) and the tiles that got anything on them (cats I’m talking to you) never cleaned up very well, stains are permanently visible. Go with dark and patterned and vacuum often and you’ll be fine!
