My friend Wendy told me that Fubonn, this giant new Asian supermarket, was now open. She tempted me with tales of huge candy sections and oodles of bubble tea. So when my parents came by today to drop off several dozen frozen ham bao, I thought it’d be fun to drag them to the market.

Gates down! A man walked out and told us they will open tomorrow (he also told us that aisle 6 would be dedicated to Japanese products), so all we could do was press our faces against the metal bars and longingly peer in. That candy section better watch out, cuz I’m going to be all over it.

wow! that looks like as super ’99 ranch market’! i love going in those asian supermarkets/stores -my favorite is ‘marukai,’ but you need a membership – i usually tag along with a friend who’s a member. one of my favorite finds was a japanese one-drop toilet deoderizer – now i think we americans have a copycat product.

Dude that store looks great and all, but lets get back to the frozen ham bao! Where do they get them? I love bao and for some reason they’re hard to find around here…

Fubon is (sort of) OPEN?! We drove by on Saturday (I think) and it didn’t look all the way open yet… then again I was looking for GRAND OPENING or NOW OPEN signs to replace the OPENING SUMMER 2005 banners they currently have up.
Can’t wait to check it out!
