‘Tis the season

Marshmallow Peeps are “always in season” now, but really, Easter is indisputably the ultimate season for Peeps. No other holiday comes with Peeps accessories! Today I stumbled upon the Peeps display, and it was a sight to behold. I think I might have gotten a little carried away:

And here’s a closeup of the Peeps “plush pak”:

Sigh, how I love Peeps. Peep on, peeple!
Oh, and here’s a gratuitous dog photo. Peter was watching tonight’s episode of the Dog Whisperer, and Berkeley started watching! Deedle has never watched TV, so it was a surprise when Berkeley reacted to it. Here he is enjoying the show:

  5. Kathy says:

So, do you make Peep S’Mores like my husband does?

  6. Sara says:

I love the plush peeps! How cute! Have you seen the peeps flavored lip balm? I saw some at the store yesterday; it comes in at least four flavors (vanilla, cotton candy, strawberry, and grape).

  7. Adrienne says:

That’s so awesome! I love how Berkeley looks so into the program! 🙂
I know you’re going to chastise me for saying this, but I’m not really into marshmallow anything. So no Peeps for this chickie. I do like thos plush Peeps, though! So cute.

  8. debbie says:

hi again – i looked at your cart of goodies again and noticed the pepto bismol – is that what you normally get when you stock up on goodies? – just joking – hee hee hee….

Maybe you have already mentioned this but have you seen the knitted cupcakes in the new ONE SKEIN book from Interweave? They are irresistible and would be really cute for Easter.
Berkeley is looking right at home.
Have a great trip, Mariko. I am envious.

At big lots in Milwaukie there are peeps socks for $.99. They have peeps instead of pom-poms.

  12. Kristin says:

I love that cart full of Peeps, with the Pepto peeking out from the back!

  13. Juls says:

Wow, if you are going all out on peeps now, just think, they must go on sale after Easter–then you can REALLY load up! Came by to see your knitting gallery and was thrilled to find another Beautiful South fan. I remember seeing them in concert a few times (gosh, a decade ago!)

  14. Jaime says:

Berkeley watching TV is very cute! My cats do that occasionally, usually in response to a bark, meow or bird chirping.

  15. VaxGirl says:

Peep on! I found a pen, with a PeeP on top!

  16. Kay says:

I LOVE the Dog Whisperer. Have never owned a dog. But just love him! I suspect a lot of editing and time lapse in those stories, but they get me every time……
Walk that Berkeley! It’s all in the walk! xoxo Kay PS Nice fair isle (love that it is geometric–Missoniesque!); the careful readers are noting that although you supposedly are slacking on your knitting/crafting, you DESIGNED A FAIR ISLE. We should all be such slackers.

  17. Danielle says:

I love, love, love peeps! One of the only organic things I eat. I like to put them on a fork and toast them over an open flame (either outside or on the stove) and the sugar on the outside carmelizes and gets crunchy while the marshmellow on the inside stays soft and luxerious! Mmmmm…I’m off to the kitchen to have a toasted peep. Yeah!

  18. holly says:

i love the plush peeps! Eating peeps is one of the things i miss most since becoming a vegetarian, but plush peeps are animal free!

  19. Stacy says:

I’m sorry; I despite Peeps because I hate marshmallows, but I love Easter because of Cadbury Cream Eggs! (I know most people find them vile, but I can’t help lovin’ ’em!) Also, ’tis the season for chocolate-covered Matzos!

  20. Stacy says:

Oops, I meant to say I despise Peeps.

  21. Chocoholic says:

I don’t really care for peeps. Sorry. But my kids do love them and look forward to Easter so we can stock up on them. The plush ones really do look cute. Can’t wait to get some of those for their baskets.

  22. Ani says:

Love Peeps!!! Your dog photo is hilarious.

  23. Have you seen the “make your own peeps” kit? I think making your own peeps counts as crafting. I like peeps, but am a Cadbury Cream Egg kind of gal.

  24. ljc says:

I am glad there is someone out there that loves Peeps as much as I do. Have you seen the giant koosh Peep pillows? Peeptastic!

  25. Charity says:

I have to agree wiht your love of Peeps! I have nto yet seen the plush packs, but my friend and I went to Big Lots the other day and came out with Peeps socks (with plush mini peeps on the ankle- like old fashioned bobby sock balls), Peeps charm bracelets, peeps pens, Peeps Rubber Peep-‘duckies’, wind-up Peeps and peeps stampers!! (pics to be posted in my blog tonight) They also had peeps sidewalk chalk, sunglasses and other goodies and everything was $0.99 – $1.99. It was a Peeptacular find! 🙂
