you say porcupine, I say hedgehog

Following the dearth of crafting over the weekend, I kind of lost my mind and decided I just really needed to make SOMETHING. I’m currently working on a skirt (though I’m afraid it’s going to be a little snug around the middle. Oh well, it’s not like I’m going to give up sweets), and this morning, in lieu of my run (hence the tightness around my middle!), I jumped on the freezer paper stenciling bandwagon and made this:

There’s a special spot in my heart for the hedgehog, as the stuffed version is Deedle’s ultimate toy.
Here’s a closeup:

Peter thought it was a porcupine. Hmph.

Our new dog Sabrina just LUURVES her stuffed squeaky hedgehog toys. It was a sad day when all FIVE of them were up in the closet waiting to have the squeakers replaced and assorted gaping limb holes sewn shut. 😉

The hedgehogs are very popular around my casa, too. My dear Goldie has one at home, one at Grandma’s (where she gets doggie day care) and one at Dad’s (we don’t live together anymore but he gets visitation).
Every time she sees one, it’s with such joy. Like “There it is! My HEDGEHOG!:
