mushrooms

My new Casio camera needed a case, and 10-year-old Lillie needed a new pencil case, so voila:

I guess it’s kind of mean of me to show you the mushroom canvas, since superbuzzy sold out of it. Sorry. Anyway, Lillie indicated a desire for a poodle patch on her case, which is why there’s a big poodle patch on it. Apparently poodles like mushrooms, too. I lined the pencil case with some heavy canvassy nylon so you could really cram it full of writing implements and not worry about ink seepage. The camera case is lined with some quilted material for a wee bit of padding.

    What pattern did you use for the poodle/shroom pencil case? I’ve been hitting a wall trying to figure out how to get the zipper between a lining and an outside fabric…

    These are so cute!! I love the fabric – and the poodle patch is so fun. My daughter is 9 and she would love this! Is there a pattern?

    How cute! And inspirational. I just got a new camera myself. I am relatively new to sewing, but I think I just might try to make a case.

    Ooh! A camera case! Good idea! And it really was mean to show a sold-out fabric. I thought I’d heard poodles love mushrooms… now I know it’s true! lol. Really cute.
