apron au play

Hey! I finally managed to find some time to sew up an apron for Larissa and her fundraiser for Cafe au Play, the family-friendly community coffeehouse she is helping get established.

I hope someone likes it enough to bid on it at the auction. I used some lovely fabric from superbuzzy, of course, and I just kind of made up the pattern. The ruffle is kind of crazy, but I wanted the apron to be flirty and fun. Maybe I have just lost all touch with reality.

So cute! I got that fabric in green from you guys – I’ve been thinking about making an apron from it too – it’s so perfect for that! Love the ruffle!

great job mariko! this apron suggests exactly a sense of care end style mixed together – very comforting, just like a cup of coffee 🙂

Hi Mariko, my Mommy blog stalks you. We live in Georgia. My mommy showed me your blog post with the full size candy bars and I asked her if we can go trick-or-treating at your house. She said no, because Portland is really far away, but I said we should send you a note that says Trick Or Treat and then you can mail us candy. Mommy said that’s tacky, so instead Mommy is pretending to be me and typing this. How lame my Mommy is.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Oh, and can you move to Georgia, like, before Halloween? Mommy really likes skittles a whole lot.

I agree you have not gone off the deep end. I love it! I’ll email you right now, I know I need to answer you about sending this for the auction. We have about 10 in-hand so we’ll be sewing a lot if I don’t get the rest of the ones that were pledged. Thank you for doing this -sooooo much! It’s gorgeous.

Hi, long time no see! I really like the ruffle, it makes the apron more special than others. I really want one of those kind of loose aprons that Japanese girls are always wearing when they work places that require aprons, the kind that have straps that cross in the back and maybe button down at the bottom… so cute! I can’t figure when I’d ever wear it, but they’re so cute.
