sofa vs couch vs davenport

I have a favor to ask those of you in the vicinity of a Room&Board furniture store. We’re thinking about ordering one of their couches–the Delancy 72″ (apartment size):

The thing is, we don’t live near a Room&Board, so I have no idea how comfy or nice this couch actually is. This is where the favor comes in. If anyone out there is willing to go and sit on one of these couches and report back to me, say, within the week, I would be very grateful, and I will send you a little goodie box (who said bribery is a bad thing?). Please contact me either by posting a comment or sending an e-mail, and I will reply. Also, I would appreciate any feedback or anecdotes about Room&Board and the quality of their furniture. MERCI BUCKETS.

I don’t live near one of those stores, but this LOOKS like a comfy and nice couch! I bet you’d love it.

There’s one near my parents’ house, where I was just at this past weekend (darn!) but I may be going down there again this weekend. I’m just not sure if I’ll be down there before they close, but I’ll give it a try (and hey, maybe you’ll get more than one opinion!).

There’s one pretty close by me in Denver. If you’d like, I can go check it out. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the quality of their furniture, but I’d be happy to ask around.

My friend Liz has that couch. It’s VERY comfy. I’ve slept on it several times. She slipcovered hers though, due to the recent acquisition of a black lab.

Dude, I totally would have done it, ’cause I can’t imagine a better thing to get in the mail than an eggplant-flavored goodie box. Alas, there is no R&B near me either…

We have a R&B couch and I love it….loved their service, love the quality, just all love, all the time. The only problem I had with mine is that it’s leather and when we first owned it, there was a bit of slipping and sliding of the cushions.
Super nice people, and great delivery too.

Our bed, nightstands, and dresser are all from R&B and we have been really pleased with the quality. Our set has a clean, modern feel to it and is made of cherry – it’s all very solid and well made (no chipboard!). The stuff was all delivered to the room and assembled for us by nice, professional guys. I recommend!

Yup, that is a nice couch, we’ve sat on it before. A friend of ours got a bunch of furniture from there for his new apartment, and we have our eye on a few pieces. Great service too.
We love going to the store because no one bothers you, so you can sit on every couch and chair in the place to really ake up your mind. We went there after a big snowstorm last winter, very cozy inside looking out at the snow covered NYC streets.

My friend Rick the decorator and furniture designer uses R & B a lot and thinks it’s great quality for price, reliable delivery etc.
    Nice sofa! xox Kay

No, I don’t know anything about your sofa in the pic. I’m writing b/c I got a chuckle outa youramerifrench at the end of the post.
My son, who has been in a French-biingual program for ten yrs now, has taken it upon himself to butcher the language at times by saying something similar, “Murky bucket”. And yum-yum, time for a trip to “Tar-shay” for chocalates.
